I have seen a building with a cupola ...

I mean I've seen a building without a cupola but have never seen a cupola without a building (apologies to Lewis Carrol). Click on the picture for a larger view of the only part of the main building at Wiley that remains. Image hosted by Webshots.com
This starts the 50th anniversary of the senior year in high school for me and my classmates. When we returned to Wiley after the summer, most of us thought we seniors were big stuff. Now being a senior gives me discounted coffee at McDonalds (I'm not complaining).

This time last year I visited my life long friend on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and when I got home I wrote about it here. We played in the water by day and watched TV coverage of Katrina at night. This year tropical storm Ernesto visited instead and left behind more water than the roads and the dunes could handle.

This is from the September 13th Virginia-Pilot and shows the street in front of Dick and Jodi's house. You could almost kayak to the beach.
